First of all welcome to Barking Green!
We hope you enjoy our site as much as we have in putting together our range of Organic and Eco Pet products .
A few years ago, Barking Green's founder was struggling to find an organic dog bed in Australia. It was whilst sourcing eco friendly options to traditional polyester stuffing that she launched www.ecofilling.com. That was the first step in making eco friendly filling available to the general public.
Next step was to have custom made homewares and pet bedding available for those who didn't, couldn't, or simply weren't interested in making their own. After a few false starts, Barking Green was born.
We now use GOTS certified organic cotton fabrics , pre-washed and pre-shrunk in all of our beds and toys. Our products are all Australian made and hand made by Eco Filling Australia.
The best thing about our products however is the wool. Pets just love the smell and feel of our wool. We regularly hear back from customers telling us how much their pet now sleeps in their own bed!! For those who prefer not to use wool, we also offer a certified organic Cotton fill option.
Our organic cotton fabric is GOTS certified. (Global Organics Textile Standards)
Definition: Product grown and processed to organic standards. Products carrying the GOTS symbol are made from organic fibres, have met strict environmental and social criteria during processing and have been certified by an independent, third party along the whole supply chain.
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Third-party certification organizations verify that organic producers use only methods and materials allowed in organic production.
Our wool is sourced from a small certified Organic Farm in Victoria, Australia. Other than gentle washing our Organic wool is not processed in any other way and is in it's raw form. Animals love the smell of the wool and you wil find they spend more time on their beds.
